In ‘Classic Rat’, Blek le Rat’s most recognisable motif steps off the street and into sculptural form, sleek and swift against a gilded backdrop.

Created in collaboration with Kenaz Studio, this edition merges stencil mastery with the enduring weight of fired stoneware, while drawing on the deep symbolism of Islamic architecture. In this tradition, doors and thresholds represent the passage between worlds — a step from the temporal into the eternal, from the seen into the unseen.

Here, the rat — street art’s most enduring icon — moves with intent toward the open threshold, caught in a moment between departure and arrival, change and continuity.

‘Rat Under The Crescent Moon’ marks a powerful moment in the collaboration between Blek le Rat and Kenaz Studio — where iconic urban symbolism meets the deeper cycles of time and meaning.

In Islamic tradition, the crescent moon (hilal) signals the start of each new lunar month — a time of awareness, change, and transition. This sculpture subtly echoes that energy — a watchful figure looking upward toward what’s to come.
