The Patek Philippe 5935A-001 combines two of Patek Philippe’s distinctive complications — a flyback chronograph and World Time function — within a polished stainless steel case. Originally introduced as a limited-edition steel reference, the 5935A brings together a sporty design with vintage-inspired detailing.
This 2021 example is presented as a full set. The rose-gold opaline dial features a distinctive carbon-pattern centre, surrounded by the World Time display showing the 24 time zones. Anthracite applied hour markers and dauphine-style hands are crafted from white gold and finished with white luminescent coating.
The World Time function allows the wearer to simultaneously read the time across 24 time zones, with a 24-hour day/night indication. Positioned at the centre of the dial is the flyback chronograph hand, accompanied by a 30-minute counter, allowing elapsed time to be measured while retaining the ability to reset and immediately restart the chronograph.
Powering the 5935A-001 is Patek Philippe’s self-winding CH 28-520 HU calibre. The movement features a 21K gold central rotor, Gyromax balance and Spiromax balance spring. Measuring 34.5mm in diameter and 7.97mm thick, the movement contains 355 components and 38 jewels, with a power reserve of approximately 50 to 55 hours.
The fully polished stainless steel case measures 41mm in diameter and 12.75mm thick. A sapphire crystal case back provides a view of the finely finished movement, while the watch is water resistant to 30 metres.
The watch is supplied with a hand-stitched taupe grained calfskin strap, together with an additional beige calfskin strap featuring a nubuck finish. Both are secured by a stainless steel fold-over clasp, giving the 5935A-001 versatility while maintaining its distinctive character.
