The Rolex that rewrote the rulebook. The Land-Dweller is Rolex's first genuinely new collection in years, and it opens with a movement rather than a design. Calibre 7135 is a high-frequency calibre running at 5Hz (36,000 beats per hour), driven by the Dynapulse escapement, an indirect-impulse, double-wheel design made entirely in silicon. It is paired with a Syloxi silicon hairspring, and it is one of the most technically advanced mechanical movements Rolex has ever produced. The result is a watch that keeps time to Superlative Chronometer standard while stretching its power reserve to around 66 hours.
The 40mm Oyster case is cast in 18K Everose gold, an alloy Rolex makes in its own foundry to hold its colour and lustre over time. A slim movement keeps the case just 9.7mm high, so it wears more like a dress watch than a typical Oyster. A fluted gold bezel frames an intense white dial with a satin-finished honeycomb motif, finished with a Cyclops lens over the date and Chromalight luminescence. The flat five-piece Jubilee bracelet in solid Everose gold, with a concealed folding Crownclasp, completes the integrated profile. A transparent caseback with anti-reflective coating shows the movement at work.
